FORT WORTH – TCU student Natalie Baugh’s financial situation has upgraded from Baltic Avenue to Park Place, thanks to an Albertson’s promotion.

She picked the winning ticket in the grocery chain’s Monopoly promotional contest, making her the winner of $100,000.
“I work hard for my money and I spend it well,” said Baugh, 23 of Columbus, Texas.
The senior is paying her own way through college. She’s spent the summers waiting tables since she was 15. Baugh had been collecting tickets given to her after every shopping trip at Albertson’s, a part of a promotional Monopoly game. Back in March, she put the winning piece on the board.
“The last one matched, and I kind of just sat there in silence,” she said. “Really not much to it — I was excited, but a lot of silence.” Her winning ticket is one of only six given out across the country.
It took several days before she got the phone call making her win official, and Monday it finally sunk in; seeing the giant check probably helped.

“Of course, I was in shock,” Baugh said. “I really couldn’t believe that I won, so I came up to the store and my hands were shaking.”
The senior is staying focused and said there is no shopping spree in her future. “I’m not just going to blow it on purses and jewelry and typical stuff that a girl would buy,” she said. “I want to pay off my school.”
